Just come to our Saturday meetings! GRANDS meets every second Saturday of the month at 11 a.m., in the C.A.R.E.
Center, located at 5910 Arden Stnue, in Portsmouth, Virginia. Everyone is welcome!
What if I dont live in Portsmouth? Can I attend GRANDS meetings?
GRANDS is open to the public, so anyone throughout the Hampton Roads area and beyond is welcome to attend GRANDS
meetings.
Why should I get involved with GRANDS?
GRANDS is comprised of grandparentssome as young as 36 years of age---who have accepted the responsibility and
challenge of raising their grandchildren. GRANDS members understand the unique challenges of parenting second
families, support and encourage one another, have a wealth of information and resources to help grandparents raising
their grandchildren navigate through and cope with the sometimes tedious legal, financial and psychological obstacles
of parenting grandchildren.
Can I bring my grandchildren to GRANDS meetings?
Yes! GRAND kids meet in the same building, in a different location during the same time GRANDS meets. An experienced
youth counselor has developed programs and activities aimed at giving grandchildren an opportunity to express their
feelings and emotions in a safe and nurturing environment.
